Achievers puts employee well-being at the centre of a people-first culture

Achievers

Dialogue

Achievers helps thousands of organizations build cultures where employees feel recognized and supported. Internally, the benefits plan told a different story: no anywhere, anytime virtual care, reactive mental health support, and an EAP that lived in a separate app few employees thought to open. In March 2023, Achievers chose Dialogue's Integrated Health Platform (IHP) to close that gap — launching Mental Health+, Primary Care, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) in a single app for approximately 500 Canadian employees from day one.

Hear what Achievers’ VP of Employee Success, Kristy Jones, has to say about partnering with Dialogue.

Fragmented benefits that
didn’t match the culture

Achievers is built on a clear premise: recognition drives culture, and culture drives results. That belief shapes its product, its client relationships, and, most importantly, how it treats its own people. Kristy Jones, VP Employee Success, describes Achievers’ workforce as A-players. And A-players deserve benefits that reflect their dedication.

The audit started with mental health. What existed was insufficient: programs that responded to crises but did little to support employees proactively, and were unavailable when needed most. From a business standpoint, that gap is costly. Untreated mental health conditions are the leading cause of short-term disability claims in Canada, and organizations with low mental health benefits utilization often see higher rates of absenteeism and presenteeism.

“Mental health was really what started my journey, and looking at other benefits to add to the lineup that we offer our A-players at Achievers.”

Two other gaps compounded the problem. Employees struggled to access a doctor quickly, easily, and virtually. If a basic health concern came up, they were left to navigate the public system on their own time. On top of that, the incumbent EAP provider lived in a disconnected platform, making it difficult for team members to find it, use it, and see any health outcomes.

The business case for change was clear. Fragmented benefits produce fragmented outcomes: lower utilization, higher administrative burden, and employees who feel unsupported when it matters most. For a company whose product promise is built on making employees feel valued, that misalignment was not sustainable.

The Solution

One platform built around
the member experience

When Achievers evaluated virtual care providers, member experience was non-negotiable. A platform that is difficult to navigate, slow to respond, or buried behind friction would undermine the very purpose of offering benefits in the first place.

That’s where Dialogue came in. The Integrated Health Platform unified Mental Health+, Primary Care, and EAP in a single app — one login, one seamless experience, one place employees could actually remember. Rather than roll out programs gradually, Achievers launched all three in March 2023, giving every eligible employee full access from day one.

The three programs each addressed a distinct gap:

  • Mental Health+ gave employees around-the-clock access to therapy, coaching, and psychiatric support without the need for a referral or being stuck on a waitlist. Earlier access means shorter absences: Dialogue members supported by Mental Health+ return to work in an average of 31 days, compared to 65 days through the public system alone.

  • Primary Care put a Dialogue clinician within reach from home, often within hours. Minor health concerns get addressed the same day instead of weeks later. This leads to fewer sick days, and fewer issues that worsen because they went unaddressed.

  • EAP moved from a standalone app most employees forgot to a program embedded in the same platform they already use. When benefits are easy to find, they actually get used.

Happy and healthy employee using Dialogue

“Launching Mental Health+ has been a huge success for giving employees that wraparound care 24/7, meeting employees where they are.”

The impact

High utilization.
Strong satisfaction.
Fast adoption.

The numbers reflect what happens when employees are given benefits that are genuinely easy to use. Within 4 months of launching, Achievers had already reached a 38% registration rate, driven by Dialogue’s robust onboarding and engagement process that help employees find the platform useful and navigate it on their own.

A platform employees actually use

Across all three programs, Achievers members are engaging at rates that reflect genuine engagement. Nearly 1 in 2 eligible employees used Primary Care in the past year, and close to 1 in 5 accessed mental health or EAP support. Those numbers matter because utilization is where benefits spend either pays off or doesn't. High utilization means employees are finding the platform, trusting it, and coming back.

Member experience that earns employee trust

Achievers’ 4.2/5 member satisfaction score reflects what Kristy Jones hears directly: the ease of booking a consultation and the speed of care are the two things employees appreciate most. In a benefits landscape where utilization is often the biggest challenge, that experience is what turns access into action.

“When I hear stories from employees sharing with me how much they value their benefits, it really puts a smile on my face knowing that the benefits we offer our A-players have truly made an impact.”

When cultures align, partnerships work

For Achievers, recognition is a business strategy: people who feel valued perform better, stay longer, and build stronger teams. And that matched perfectly with Dialogue’s values and model. When employees can access care proactively and without friction, they show up healthier, more present, and more engaged. For Kristy Jones, that kind of accountability was evident from the start of the partnership.

That alignment translated into adoption. When leaders champion their benefits and communicate them clearly, employees use them. Achievers demonstrates what that looks like in practice.

A great partnership between Dialogue and Achievers

“Achievers is a people-first organization, so partnering with Dialogue was definitely seamless. It really has allowed us to put the well-being of our employees at the forefront.”
