Welcome back to our monthly series on Dialogue’s latest updates. This month, we’re highlighting enhancements to the mental health assessment process and features that streamline access to in-person care. We’re also excited to give you a preview of upcoming features and content to make your care journey even better!
Let’s explore what’s new!
New screening tool for suicide risk assessment
According to the Canadian Association for Suicide Prevention, 12 Canadians lose their lives by suicide every day. These incidents have a profound impact on people of all ages and from all walks of life.
To better support our members, we’ve adopted the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale screening tool to help our providers assess members who may be experiencing suicidal ideation. It is one of the most widely used and clinically validated tools worldwide, recognized for its effectiveness in predicting suicide risk. Through a series of six simple and direct questions, care providers can assess members for risks and develop a personalized safety plan for their needs, including directing members to emergency services if they are in immediate danger.
Our priority is to ensure members receive the care and support they need. If you or someone you love is in immediate danger, please contact 911 or 988.
In case you missed it!
Simplifying access to in-person care with self-navigation support
While most needs can be safely met virtually, sometimes members require in-person support. That’s why our self-navigation tool makes it easy for members to find in-person providers directly in the Dialogue app. Members can search by specialty to find providers in their area, review helpful details such as hours of operation, and connect with clinics at the tap of a button. With built-in calling and map directions, members can go from searching to scheduling an appointment without extra steps.
For organizations that choose Dialogue’s hybrid Employee Assistance Program, with access to virtual and in-person support, members can book an in-person session with a professional from our network who will call them directly to schedule an appointment.
Together, these options make it easier for members to get the right care at the right time.

Staying on track with chat redirect
Soon, when members start a new consultation for an episode they’ve already initiated in the app previously, they’ll see a smart prompt guiding them back to the original one. Instead of restarting, members can pick up right where they left off and keep their progress going.
This new flow will help members stay connected, avoid unnecessary repetition, and feel supported every step of the way.
