Welcome to the latest edition of our product updates newsletter!

As World Mental Health Day approaches this October, we are reminded of how important it is to be mindful of our health and well-being every day. At Dialogue, our number one priority is to design programs to ensure mental health care is easily accessible for all—no matter what your specific issue is or preference of care.

Therapy without a therapist?

It does exist! In reality, scheduling and keeping therapy appointments can sometimes be challenging with our busy schedules, and moreover, some might even prefer to tackle their challenges on their own.

With this in mind, we designed our latest program to help empower individuals to be able to manage symptoms of stress and anxiety at their own pace. Curated by our mental health experts, our iCBT (internet-based cognitive behavioural therapy) program is a set of self-care toolkits that uses the principles and techniques our own therapists use but delivered in a structured electronic format and directly accessible to members.

How a self-care toolkit works

Whether you’re actively dealing with one of life’s challenges or are simply looking to improve your overall well-being, a self-care toolkit consists of easy-to-follow, interactive exercises with practical tips that you can put into action right away.

For example, the Anxiety module is rich with content to help you think through your feelings of anxiety, challenge unhelpful behaviours, and learn how to build healthy habits to better manage negative feelings, such as:

  • An anxiety “quiz” to evaluate your anxiety level
  • An overview of how stress affects the body (physical symptoms of stress)
  • Tips on how to re-direct attention away from worrying too much
  • A “worry journal” to collect your thoughts

Additionally, helpful prompts guide a user through the many avenues to explore and real-life scenarios are used so members can better relate to and understand the content.

Is self-care effective?

Our program is clinically proven to help people manage mild to moderate levels of anxiety, stress, and more. In fact, many of our members saw improved self-esteem, a higher perceived quality of life, and a decrease in anxiety from using the program.

Because it’s accessible at any time, without limits, users can leverage the program to take a proactive approach to understand and tackle issues before they get worse or lead to more serious problems. So even if an individual only has a few minutes a day, this program provides a great option to fit in much deserved self-care time in our busy schedules.

We’re here to help

Organizations subscribed to this new program will find the self-care toolkits under the “Stress & Wellness” tile in the Dialogue app (an app update may be required). Speak to your HR team or organizational leader if you want to learn more!
